After Work Talk: Automated Speech Transcription

The next CLS After Work Talk will feature Siegfried (Jimmy) Kunzmann, who will present: "Automated Speech Transcription - From Applied Research to the Market."

This will be part of the Zürich Computational Linguistics Network, which we will be hosting at our office in Glattbrugg at the request of Prof. Martin Volk (University of Zurich, Chair of MT) and Enrique Alfonseca (Google). The event is a great opportunity to get reacquainted with the fields of computer linguistics / transcription / big data.

Speech recognition has made enormous progress over the past decade. By applying speaker-independent recognition technologies, growing computing power and the ability to collect vast amounts of spoken data, a rapidly growing range of new applications are becoming feasible.

We will look at approaches to technology, workflows and customisation for achieving high recognition rates.

The talk will last about 45 minutes, after which we will have a questions & answers session for about 15 minutes - followed by an apero and a chance to mingle and network.

This event is open to everyone, and CLS After Work Talks are a great opportunity to rub shoulders with fellow professionals. We hope to see you there!
