Swiss KIID Day – the event
The new Key Investor Information Documents (KIIDs) are currently being introduced across the EU for the majority of investment funds. These documents are also set to become mandatory for almost all funds subject to Swiss law. In connection with this change, an information event is now to be held, explaining which points are of particular importance and highlighting the differences between the EU KIIDs and the Swiss KIIDs.
Switzerland is neither a member of the European Union nor the European Economic Area (EEA). Nevertheless, between 2012 and 2014 Switzerland will replace most simplified fund prospectuses with the Key Investor Information Documents (KIIDs), which are both shorter and easier to read. As Switzerland has not taken up membership of the abovementioned organisations, these documents will not be based on the European fund regulations under UCITS. So which supervisory regulations will apply? Despite Switzerland’s position, most of the requirements will still remain the same, including the use of simple and plain language. In working with the new Swiss KIIDs, a number of questions arise. Can we draw from practical experiences and tricks already encountered? And how will issues with the technical platform, which are often underestimated, be handled?
Answers to all these questions will be provided at an event to be held on 20 March 2012 in Zurich. The event will be held in German, and will be free of charge. To find out more about the event programme and to register, visit the website of the Swiss Funds Association SFA.
