Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability Reports in Spain

CSR Article in Corresponsables (in Spanish)Corporate social responsibility is defined as a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis.

The disclosure of information about corporate social responsibility and the elaboration of the Sustainability Report in Spanish firms has increased and improved in recent years. Although the degree of implementation of CSR in Spain is still moderate compared to other countries, initiatives in this field from some of the country's most respected companies augur promising developments in CSR in the near future. Telefónica, one of the largest telecommunication companies in the world, currently translates its annual CSR and Sustainability reports at CLS and it is considered one of the best reports in the Spanish market.

Because of the growing movement in favor of corporate social responsibility, CLS Spain continues its sales and marketing efforts to inform and educate Spanish Communication Directors and other stakeholders involved about corporate social responsibility and the elaboration of multilingual Sustainability Reports according to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework.

CLS continues to collaborate with the magazine "Corresponsables", one of the main references in the area of CSR and Sustainability in Spain.  Eric Taylor, one of CLS Spain's internal translators, wrote an interesting 2-page article that covered important subjects such as:

  • What makes a good CSR report in such a globalized world today
  • How to be considered a "good" company
  • Statistics about "socially responsible" investments
  • How to improve your company's reputation here and abroad
