Article on CLS Machine Translation - 28.11.06

CLS Communication employs its own team to manage and expand CLS Machine Translation. Translations are analysed so that quality can be constantly monitored and then improved by using the necessary coding. New terms are researched and sector-specific terminology databases and glossaries are imported to ensure that vocabulary lists are comprehensive and up to date. Terminology entries contain highly detailed linguistic information and are organised by subject field. Where there are several possible translations for one word, the system is therefore able to select the term appropriate to the context and the subject field chosen by the user, who can easily access the system, hosted by CLS, through his or her browser. CLS can therefore ensure 24-hour availability, protect data and provide customised support. To take just one of our clients – a large bank employing over 60,000 staff – CLS Machine Translation is used primarily for translating internal emails, but entire documents such as minutes of meetings, product descriptions and handbooks are also handled.
