Leading language technology specialist joins CLS - 06.10.06

Mrs. Maier is joining CLS from Canoo Engineering AG, Basel. A co-founder of Canoo Engineering, her responsibilities included the Natural Language Processing (NLP) group. She was also Vice President R&D at UBS's Web Competence Center in Basel. Mrs. Maier has over 20 years of experience in IT, primarily in the area of language processing. Her specialist fields include machine translation, electronic dictionaries, automatic text generation and dialogue processing. Mrs. Maier has a PhD in information technology with a main focus in computer linguistics, and she has been involved in applications research in Germany, the US and Italy.
